Help is Finally Here for Landlords Facing Financial Issues
Help is finally here for landlords facing financial issues of their own!
California lawmakers on Thursday agreed to use $2.6 billion in federal stimulus money to pay off up to 80% of some tenants’ unpaid rent.
But is it enough?
Not only does it extend the states’ eviction moratorium another six months, the assistance for landlords only qualifies for households:
- Whose income is 80% of the median income for the area.
- Covers missed rents from April 2020 thru March 2021- only as long as the landlord agrees to forgive the remaining 20% AND will not pursue an eviction.
